Gameplay Details

keyboard badges show a keyboard/mouse action, and controller badges show the controller equivalent.

Camera

The camera follows your most recently selected unit by default. As soon as you pan it manually it stops following, and it resumes following your unit after about a second and a half of no camera input.

Zoomscroll wheel

Center on house (Space) — snaps the camera to your own base.

Selection

Click select (left click) — click a unit to select just that one, or click empty ground to clear your selection.

Drag select (left click + drag) — press and drag on empty ground to draw a box; every one of your own living units inside it when you release becomes selected.

Select all alive (V) — selects every living unit you own, wherever they are on the map.

Slot select/recall (1-6) — selects the Pokemon in that bench slot if it's deployed, or recalls it home if it's already selected. Hold Shift to add the slot to your current selection instead of replacing it.

Controller selection

Controller has no cursor to drag a box with, so unit selection instead works through a radial menu bound to the left bumper:

Hold LB — opens a radial of your bench slots. While held, tilt the right stick toward a slot to highlight it, then release LB to select that Pokemon and jump the camera to it.

Press LB (tap and release without moving the stick) — cycles selection to the next living Pokemon you own, one at a time, without opening the radial.

Tab opens the same radial menu on keyboard: arrow keys or 1-6 to pick a slot, Enter/Space to confirm, Esc to cancel.

Issuing orders

Move / attack (right click) — right-click a spot to move your selected units there, or right-click an enemy to attack it. Hold Shift to queue the order after whatever the unit is already doing instead of replacing it.

Direct movementarrow keys or left stick move your selected unit directly, without needing to right-click a destination.

With nothing selected, right-clicking sets your base's rally point instead, so freshly spawned Pokemon head straight there.

Aggro

Toggle aggro (X / right trigger) — flips whether a selected unit is willing to fight on its way to a destination. Aggro units are tinted red on the field; passive units are tinted blue.

Aggro (red) — the Pokemon scans for and pursues targets while it moves, and will peel off to fight anything it comes across.

Passive (blue) — the Pokemon ignores attackers, and walks straight to its destination, only fighting if it's manually ordered to attack; run away mode.

Player levels

You earn player XP alongside your Pokemon, mainly from defeating enemies and from selling Pokemon out of your bank. Each level requires progressively more XP than the last, up to a cap of level 30.

Leveling up pays out money — more at higher levels — so leveling is a big part of your economy, not just a stat check. It has no direct effect on your Pokemon's own stats.

Pokemon Bank & selling

Your bench is a fixed number of party slots sized by difficulty — see Players & difficulty. Once it's full, newly caught Pokemon overflow into the bank instead, which has no size limit. Open it with the BANK button on the HUD, or Y on controller.

Bank Pokemon can only be deployed to an empty bench slot. If it is at full health then it will spawn immediately, else it will spawn when it finishes its turn in the healing queue.

Selling a banked Pokemon removes it permanently in exchange for player XP, scaled to its level (with diminishing returns at high levels). It's a way to convert Pokemon you don't plan to use into levels and money instead of letting them sit idle.

Healing queue and Recall

Defeated Pokemon, and any Pokemon you manually recall don't come back instantly, they join your house's healing queue. Each Pokemon has a respawn counter that increases how long they need in the healing queue every time they die. HEAL button on the HUD, G, or X on controller.

Recall (R / left trigger) heals much faster than a dying and respawning does, and it doesn't increment the Pokemon's death counter, but it comes on a separate dedicated cooldown. Use Recall on a Pokemon with full health to bank them (skip healing queue, also instant reset Recall ability)

You can reorder queued entries in the healing queue (except the current one) to bring Pokemon back in a different order, by using the healing queue panel.

Items

Money earned from leveling up and other rewards buys items from your bag panel on the HUD. Items fall into a few classes:

Potions — heal a Pokemon on the field. There's a short cooldown per player and a separate one per Pokemon, so you can't chain-heal a single unit back-to-back.

Balls — capture a defeated wild Pokemon, sending it to your bench or bank.

Evolution items — trigger an evolution for specific species that need one.

Battle items — short-duration combat buffs: x-speed (double move speed), x-attack (double attack speed), and x-defense (halve incoming damage).

Other items — rare candy (instant level up) and escape rope (recall a Pokemon without using the Recall timer).

The Auto-shop and auto-potion toggles on the main how-to page can manage buying/using most of these for you.
